Laser hair removal faqs

Most patients need a series of 6-8 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. This allows the treatment to target hair in different growth phases. Maintenance sessions may be required over time.

The treatment is generally well tolerated. Some patients describe a mild sensation, similar to a light snap of a rubber band. The Lynton IPL system is designed to minimise discomfort, and a cooling gel is applied to soothe the skin.

There is typically no downtime after IPL hair removal. You may experience slight redness or a warm sensation in the treated area, which usually subsides within a few hours.

Avoid waxing, plucking, or bleaching the hair in the area to be treated before your appointment. Shaving the area is recommended before treatment. You should also avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for 2 weeks before and after the treatment.

Most patients experience long-lasting hair reduction, but some may require occasional maintenance sessions to keep the area hair-free. Results may vary depending on individual factors such as hair type and hormonal changes.

Lynton IPL is generally more effective on lighter skin tones with darker hair. However, we do offer alternative solutions for darker skin tones. Nurse Billa will discuss the best options during your consultation.
